Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-quality software that meet the needs of our clients. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and UX teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Responsibilities
- System design for new services
- Implementation of new features within existing systems
- Write clean, maintainable code and tests in Python
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and resolve issues.
- Periodic On-call (business hours EST, CST and PST)
Requirements
- 5 Years Professional experience in backend development
- 2 years Professional experience in Python
- Direct experience building a customer facing product or service with more than 200 users
- Experience building a customer facing product or service from scratch
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field
Nice to have
- Some experience in React, Typescript
- Experience in strongly typed languages like Java, C++, Go or Rust
- Experience with containers
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Based out of the Greater Madison area.
